About the Campus

GMIT’s Centre for the Creative Arts & Media (CCAM) is also located close to Galway City centre, on the Monivea Road. CCAM is a hive of creative activity, and is home to a number of Creative Industries organisations and enterprises alongside the courses in Design (Graphic Design & Illustration, Animation & Game Design, Industrial design and Fashion & Textile Design), Contemporary Art (2D Painting-Printmaking-Photography, and 3D Ceramics-Sculpture-Digital Media), and Film & Documentary (Editing, Screenwriting, Production design, VFX Visual Effects, Audio Production and Cinematography, Production & Direction).

Check out the conversations we had during our October Open Day.

About Galway City

Galway city has long been known as a centre for creativity, arts, culture, film, design, music, drama and more. The city is alive with arts and cultural festivals, including Galway Film Fleadh in early July, and the Galway International Arts Festival in mid-late July, The Cúirt International Festival of Literature in April, and Baboró, an International Arts Festival for children, in October. In 2014, Galway was designated a UNESCO City of Film (one of eighteen in the world) in recognition of its strong audio-visual sector and creative media output. Galway was also designated European Capital of Culture for 2020.
